Laser, rotary or CNC engraving removes the micro-thin black cap and reveals permanent silver text, symbols and graphics with a soft, fine pearlescent lustre.
LYS-7282 is developed for engraving-material distributors, industrial label manufacturers, control-panel builders, sign fabricators and OEM buyers. It provides a more refined metallic contrast than a plain white or gray core while remaining a lightweight, process-ready plastic sheet rather than a metal plate.
The color structure is black on the surface and pearl silver underneath. Only the engraved areas expose the pearl silver core, so the finished legends remain crisp against the black background. The silver effect is subtle and evenly distributed, without the directional grain of brushed silver or the sharp reflection of mirror silver.
The contrast is created by the physical two-color structure of the sheet. It is not screen printing, metallic ink, foil stamping, paint filling or an applied silver film, helping engraved information remain permanently integrated with the finished part.
A micro-thin face layer allows shallow engraving to expose clean pearl silver legends, specification lines, symbols and identification graphics. The black-and-silver combination is suitable for machine nameplates, rating plates, serial-number labels, asset tags and premium industrial identification.
LYS-7282 can be rotary engraved, CNC routed, cut to custom shapes and drilled for screws, rivets or other mechanical mounting. The pearl silver core appears as a fine contrasting line at engraved grooves, mounting holes and cut edges. Tooling, feed speed, spindle speed and engraving depth should be tested according to sheet thickness and the required edge quality.
The restrained metallic contrast is suitable for precision equipment, automation systems, electrical cabinets, control panels and production machinery. It provides a refined visual finish while maintaining clear identification in professional industrial environments.
| Pearl Silver Core | Soft, fine pearlescent silver visible only after the black face is engraved; the defining feature of LYS-7282. |
| Brushed Silver | Shows a directional linear grain and is normally selected as a decorative surface finish. |
| Mirror Silver | Produces a high-reflection, mirror-like surface and a much brighter visual effect. |
| Matte Silver | Has a low-reflection, even silver surface without the soft pearlescent depth of this core. |
| Glitter Silver | Contains visibly coarse reflective particles; LYS-7282 does not use this effect. |
The sheet supports CO2 laser engraving, laser cutting, rotary engraving, CNC routing, drilling and custom-shape fabrication. Because the black cap is micro-thin, shallow engraving is normally sufficient to reveal the pearl silver layer. Excessive power or engraving depth may widen strokes or reduce fine-detail quality, so settings should be tested on the selected thickness before production.
For laser processing, suitable power, speed, frequency and air-assist settings depend on the machine and the operation. For CNC or rotary processing, use a sharp tool and stable workholding to obtain clean characters, holes and cut edges.

Q: Which color appears after engraving?
A: Engraving removes the black face layer and reveals the continuous pearl silver core underneath.
Q: Is the silver effect on the surface?
A: No. LYS-7282 has a black surface. Pearl silver appears only in engraved areas, cut edges and holes where the underlying core is exposed.
Q: Is pearl silver the same as mirror or brushed silver?
A: No. Pearl silver has a soft, fine lustre without mirror reflection or directional brushed lines. It is also different from coarse glitter silver.
Q: Which processing methods are supported?
A: The sheet supports CO2 laser engraving and cutting, rotary engraving, CNC routing and drilling. Recommended settings depend on the equipment, material grade and thickness.
Q: Is an outdoor version available?
A: Yes. UV-resistant and weather-resistant grades are available. The correct grade should be selected according to the expected exposure and service conditions.
Q: Can I request a free sample?
A: Yes. LYSHIRE provides free samples for qualified B2B buyers to evaluate color, pearl-silver contrast and engraving performance. Standard sample courier cost is covered by LYSHIRE, subject to inquiry qualification and availability.
Q: Can LYSHIRE provide custom production?
A: Yes. Custom thicknesses, sheet sizes, adhesive backing, fabricated parts, engraving and packaging are available. MOQ, lead time and bulk pricing are confirmed according to the specification and production arrangement.
